About Me

A few years ago, my profile was completely different. I was once an active duty Staff Sergeant in the US Army, serving in the infantry. I was in the 1st Cavalry Division for four years and 82nd Airborne Division for four years. I deployed to Iraq three times for a total of 39 months in Iraq. I attended and successfully graduated from Special Forces Assessment and Selections, Small Unit Tactics, Airborne School, and several other leadership, tactical, and medical training courses.
In 2010 I decided that I had done enough and was finally ready to go to school to get my higher level education. I decided to seek a degree in Accounting at Idaho State University. I will graduate December 2013, just in time for the tax season and will meet all the requirements for the CPA examination. I have been selected for several honorary societies to include Beta Gamma Sigma and have had the pleasure of making the Dean's List several times. I am currently a member of Beta Alpha Psi and the Veterans Clubs.
I work at Mr. Mower, a locally owned small business retail and repair shop. I help the owner with IT, selling over the Internet, customer service, parts inventory management, and accounting advice for business decisions.
I am married to a wonderful woman who cares for our three young children. The cliche is to say that she is a great support for me, but in truth, I am supporting her as she has the hardest role in our family.
I hope that I will one day be a partner at a public accounting firm. I love accounting and analyzing business. I have loved it since I opened my first accounting 101 book. Bookkeeping can be monotonous, but Accounting is wonderful and exciting. There is a difference between the two.

I hope that this blog can be useful for someone. Please let me know if you think my advice is beneficial.
